WEBINAR WITH DR. SATOSHI EZOE
On July 30, JCIE will hold a webinar to explore global health diplomacy, from the perspective of Satoshi Ezoe, former Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations (UN).
Dr. Ezoe, who has just returned to Japan after wrapping up his post in NY, will explain the landscape of the UN global health diplomacy, based on the UN High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis (2018) and the UN High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Care (UHC) (2019). He will also discuss the role Japan played throughout these high-level meetings and provide insight into Japan’s future leadership position in the global health field.

Satoshi Ezoe was in charge of global health as Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations in New York until mid-July. He started his career at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan in 2002 and since has worked on various issues as Medical Officer as well as Global Health Coordinator. In 2009–2012, he was seconded to the UNAIDS. Dr. Ezoe holds a PhD in Public Health from Juntendo University, an MD from National Saga Medical School, and an MPA/MPH in Global Health from Harvard Kennedy School.
