US-Japan Global Health Dialogue

The 2023 US-Japan Global Health Dialogue brought together US and Japanese senior government officials, legislators, health experts, and other leaders to discuss how US-Japan collaboration can be leveraged to create more resilient, equitable, and sustainable universal health coverage (UHC) through stronger health systems, and to ensure timely and equitable access to medical countermeasures in times of crises.

4th US-Japan Global Health Dialogue | Advancing Global Health Security and Future Pandemic Preparedness

The 4th US-Japan Global Health Dialogue brought together over 50 American and Japanese senior government officials, legislators, health experts, and leaders from international organizations to discuss ways that US-Japan collaboration can be leveraged to advance health security and pandemic preparedness globally. Participants discussed key issues in global health architecture, pandemic instruments and IHR, R&D including the 100 Days Mission, synergies between UHC and health security.

US-Japan Global Health Dialogue

JCIE gathers policy experts and senior officials from various US and Japanese government agencies for a series of high-level dialogues to identify areas where the two countries can deepen cooperation on global health. Meetings have been co-organized with the UN Foundation, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).

More than 30 policy experts and senior officials from nine US and Japanese government agencies gathered for a high-level dialogue to identify areas where we can deepen cooperation on global health under the Trump administration and Abe government.

3rd US-Japan Global Health Dialogue | Strengthening Partnership on Global Health

The 3rd US-Japan Global Health Dialogue brought together nearly 50 senior government officials, legislators, health experts and leaders from international organizations to discuss what they can do together to advance health security around the world. Participants discussed international financing mechanisms for global health security, global pandemic preparedness, and the potential for cooperation on for biorisk and health emergencies.

2nd US-Japan Global Health Dialogue | Strengthening Partnership on Global Health

JCIE continued its US-Japan Global Health Dialogue series to explore how the two countries can strengthen bilateral cooperation on health security under the Trump and Abe administrations. This second meeting convened more than 40 high-level government officials and policy experts from the United States and Japan.
