On November 14, 2015, JCIE and the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat co-hosted a special seminar, “China-Japan-ROK Youth Dialogue—Toward Shared Understanding of and Responses to Common Life Challenges,” as a part of the Rediscovering Common Bonds Among Japan, China, Korea seminar series.

Thirty college students from Knowledge Investment Programs and the Global Asia Leadership Forum discussed similarities and differences among the three countries in regard to (1) education, (2) work culture, and (3) gender roles. They also explored ideas about how cooperation among the three countries can address challenges related to these three issues. In addition to facilitating networking among the students, the seminar also encouraged students to examine ways that trilateral cooperation can lead to a better future for each country. The dialogue was sponsored by the East Asia Foundation .
