As part of Sumitomo Corporation’s “100SEED” campaign, it has been partnering with JCIE, having employees volunteer their time and know-how to NPOs that have been selected under our Supporting Youths of Diverse Roots and an Inclusive Society (SYDRIS) Initiative. In recognition of their work, they received the Special Award at the 6th Corporate Volunteer Award Program.

This award program is organized by the Tokyo Voluntary Action Center (TVAC) (operated by the Tokyo Council of Social Welfare) in order to recognize the volunteer work of corporate citizens in the Tokyo metropolitan region. Sumitomo’s 100SEED initiative was recognized for the ambitious scale of its activities, the collaboration between the company and NPOs, and the voluntary participation of its employees. The award ceremony was held online on February 24, 2020, and JCIE/Japan President Akio Okawara joined the event as a representative of Sumitomo’s partner organization.
