AJINOMOTO INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION FOR "NUTRITION AND HEALTH" SUPPORT PROGRAM
The Ajinomoto International Cooperation for “Nutrition and Health” Support Program was a grant program aimed at improving the quality of life of people in developing countries through support for international cooperation activities in local communities in the field of food and nutrition. The program was launched in 1999 as one of the Ajinomoto Group’s corporate citizenship activities and aims to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. From 2007 to 2010, JCIE advised Ajinomoto on its program content and helped to publicize the program and run the application process.
Grants were given to projects that meet the program’s mission in Asia (excluding Japan) and in South America (Brazil and Peru). In FY2008, ten projects in seven countries were awarded a combined ¥16.2 million; in FY2009, nine projects in seven countries were granted a total of ¥12.9 million; and in FY2010, ¥16.6 million were provided to eleven projects in eight countries.
